THE MISSION TO SEAFARERS

IG Cycling is proud to welcome The Mission to Seafarers as its new charity partner for the 2026 event. This incredible organisation supports the men and women working at sea and has grown to become one of the largest seaport-based welfare operators in the world.

About The Mission to Seafarers

The Mission to Seafarers provides help and support to the seafarers who face danger every day to keep our global economy afloat. With over 90% of world trade carried by sea, employing 1.89 million seafarers, they offer much-needed practical, emotional, and spiritual support through ship visits, their seafarers’ centres, and a range of welfare and emergency support services. The Mission to Seafarers works in 200 ports around the world, caring for seafarers of all ranks, nationalities and beliefs.

The partnership comes at an exciting time, as The Mission to Seafarers has recently expanded its work to Piraeus, Greece, a key development that will help them reach even more seafarers in this vital maritime hub. Funds raised through the Posidonia Tour 2026 will directly support their work in Greece, as well as the Mission to Seafarers work around the globe.

“We are delighted to be partnering with IG CYCLING for the Posidonia Tour 2026. Having recently appointed a Port Chaplain in Piraeus, this marks an important milestone in supporting more seafarers visiting Greece.

We share a powerful purpose – together, we unite the maritime industry and support its most important asset: its people.”
